DMA unveils telemarketing compliance software

New York--The Direct Marketing Association Monday announced it has created new software to help marketers comply with changing state and federal telemarketing regulations.

The software, called List Acquisition and Management Process (LAMP), incorporates five elements for maintaining lists: cleaning in-house lists against federal, state and DMA do-not-call lists; processing updates; tracking list subscription expiration dates; finding numbers quickly to create specialized lists; and exporting suppression data to auto-dialing systems.

"Using LAMP assists direct marketers to keep up-to-date with ever-changing telemarketing laws and lists in a way that saves time, staff resources and thousands of potential dollars in costs and fees," DMA President-CEO H. Robert Wientzen said in a statement.
