New York—The direct marketing industry is exhibiting signs of continued growth, according to the Direct Marketing Association’s Quarterly Business Review released late Thursday.
The b-to-b segment reported a major increase in first-quarter profitability, with an index of 73, compared with 63 for the fourth quarter. In the QBR index, scores above 50 represent growth.
In addition, report projected growing revenue for the segment in the second quarter.
The average sales increase for b-to-b was 9.3%, down from 14.8% in the fourth quarter.
