Dodge, who joined the publication in 2004, was in the running earlier this year for the job of BusinessWeek president but the position ended up going to Keith Fox.
It could not yet be determined what Dodgeâ€™s role will be at Salesforce.com.
Dodgeâ€™s departure comes at a difficult time for BusinessWeek. Through the first half of this year ad revenue fell 7.6% and ad pages declined 12.6% compared with the first half of 2006, according to the Publishers Information Bureau. On Wednesday, Fox announced BusinessWeekwas combining the print and digital ad sales teams into one unit.
