Doremus, Forbes study finds SMB execs optimistic about growth

Published on .

New York—Nearly 94% of small and midsize business executives believe they are the “engine of growth” in the U.S. economy, according to a study by Doremus, New York, and Forbes Insights, the custom research division of Forbes Media.

The study, “Engine of Growth: Understanding SMB Decision-makers,” was based on an online survey of approximately 700 senior executives at companies with between five and 999 employees.

It found that 55% of SMB execs expect to see growth for their companies over the next five years, while 29% believe their businesses will double in size in that time.

The study also found that “small” does not necessarily mean local: 57% of SMBs surveyed view their business as national or international, and 95% have a website.
