DoubleClick to acquire MessageMedia for $41M

New York--DoubleClick Inc. has announced it will buy MessageMedia in a stock transaction valued at $41 million. The acquisition does much to build DoubleClick's b-to-b e-mail marketing technology and client base. Louisville, Colo.-based MessageMedia sends out 100 million e-mails per month to clients including Cisco Systems Inc. and FleetBoston Financial Corp. DoubleClick currently delivers 600 million e-mails per month to customers including The Wall Street Journal Online and Procter & Gamble Co.
