Dow Jones acquires Oster Dow Jones

New York—Dow Jones Newswires, a division of Dow Jones & Co., announced Monday that it has acquired from Oster Communications. the two-thirds of Oster Dow Jones it didn’t already own.

Oster Dow Jones will be rebranded as Dow Jones Commodities Service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move is one in a series by Dow Jones Newswires to broaden the kinds of financial information it makes available.

"Commodities and futures coverage is important to our strategy of covering news and information related to all asset classes, and we expect this to become a fast-growing part of our business," said Paul Ingrassia, president of Dow Jones Newswires, in a statement.
