Dow Jones advertising exec leaves

Published on .

New York--Dow Jones & Co. announced Friday that Paul C. Atkinson, senior VP-advertising of The Wall Street Journal, “is leaving the company to pursue other interests.” Atkinson returned to The Journal last June after leaving to become a VP at AOL in 1999. Prior to joining AOL, he had been VP-advertising of The Journal since 1990. Atkinson will be succeeded by Scott D. Schulman, who will hold the title of senior VP-sales and marketing of The Journal. Schulman was previously president of Dow Jones’ Consumer Electronic Publishing division, where he helped oversee the Online Journal’s “Biz-O-Rama” advertising campaign. Todd Larsen, 37, currently VP-general manager of the Consumer Electronic Publishing division, will become president of the unit.
