New York--Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal,
said late Monday that it planned to eliminate as many as 230 jobs, according to a report on the companyâs own Dow Jones Newswires. Additionally, Dow Jones said it would institute a salary freeze for management. The moves were taken in response to the advertising recession that has struck particularly harshly in the b-to-b sector and has not spared The Wall Street Journal, Barron's
and other Dow Jones publications.
