Omaha, Neb.—Clare Hart, a former executive with Dow Jones & Co., will become CEO of database marketing holding company Infogroup, pending shareholder approval of the company's sale to New York private equity company CCMP Capitol Advisors.

Hart, who would succeed current CEO Bill Fairfield, most recently was Dow Jones exec VP and head of the company's enterprise media group, which includes Dow Jones Newswires, Factiva and the Dow Jones indexes.

At Dow Jones, Hart worked for then-CEO Richard Zannino, who is now a managing director at CCMP. Hart left Dow Jones earlier this year when the enterprise group was merged with the consumer media group, which includes The Wall Street Journal.

In March, Infogroup's board approved the sale of the company to CCMP for about $460 million, or $8 a share. The sale has been disputed by some major shareholders as too low, but Vinod Gupta, company founder and its largest shareholder, has said he is in favor of the transaction.
