Former Dow Jones exec joins New York Times Co.

New York—The New York Times Co. announced Tuesday that Robert H. Christie will join the company as senior VP-corporate communications, effective March 22. Christie will report to Janet Robinson, president-CEO. Christie, 40, was previously VP-communications at News Corp.’s Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The New York Times’ rival, The Wall Street Journal.

Last week, Dow Jones announced the appointment of Bethany B. Sherman as chief communications officer, effective March 29. Previously, Sherman was senior VP-corporate communications for the Nasdaq OMX Group.
