Dow Jones to launch DJ FX Trader service later this year

Published on .

New York—Dow Jones & Co. announced plans to launch a real-time information service called DJ FX Trader later this year. Aimed at foreign exchange market participants, the service will combine information from Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, plus technology from Dow Jones' financial markets business.

Dow Jones said DJ FX Trader will provide access to breaking news ahead of the broader market. Jim Pensiero, deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal; Gabriella Stern, managing editor of Dow Jones Newswires; and Rick Stine, senior editor of Dow Jones Newswires, will lead the editorial on the DJ FX Trade project.

“The House of Medici made money from foreign exchange—in our age, it will be Dow Jones,” Robert Thomson, editor in chief of Dow Jones and managing editor of the Journal, said in a statement.
