Dow Jones makes management changes

South Brunswick, N.J.--Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal, announced Tuesday that Richard F. Zannino, exec VP and formerly CFO of the company, was named COO. Among other structural and senior management changes at Dow Jones, Karen Elliott House, formerly president of the company’s international group, was named senior VP-publisher of all print editions of The Wall Street Journal. All of the appointments were effective immediately. Peter R. Kann, who had been publisher of The Wall Street Journal since 1989, remains chairman-CEO of Dow Jones. He will also continue as editorial director of all Dow Jones publications. In additional moves: Christopher W. Vieth, formerly VP-finance and controller, was named CFO. Danforth W. Austin, formerly general manager of The Wall Street Journal, was named vice chairman of Ottaway Newspapers.
