Dow Jones names Rooney chief revenue officer

New York—Dow Jones & Co. named ESPN sales and marketing executive Michael Rooney to the newly created position of chief revenue officer for the Dow Jones Consumer Group, which includes The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com. Rooney starts in the new position May 23. Rooney joined ESPN in 1997 and has served in a variety of sales and marketing roles for the company’s print, online and broadcast properties, rising to exec VP-multimedia sales.
