New York—Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal, and Nielsen Co. have joined forces to produce Media and Money: The Intersection of Media, Entertainment & Wall Street. The two-day event will take place Nov. 7-8 at the New York Grand Hyatt Hotel. It will address investment trends in media, the impact of developing technologies, the changing advertising market, the convergence of traditional and new media, and the outlook for newspapers and magazines. The conference marks a first-time partnership between Dow Jones and Nielsen, whose assets include Nielsen Business Media and Nielsen//NetRatings.

Byrne named executive editor/editor in chief at BusinessWeek.com
New York—BusinessWeek announced that Executive Editor John Byrne has been named executive editor/editor in chief at BusinessWeek.com. Byrne succeeds Kathy Rebello, who left the Web site. In his new role, Byrne will be responsible for editorial operations of BusinessWeek.com as well as enhancing the integration between the print and online editorial staffs. Byrne returned to BusinessWeek in August 2005 after a brief stint as editor in chief of Fast Company. Prior to joining Fast Company, he had worked for BusinessWeek for 18 years.
