Dow Jones plans digital conference

Published on .

New York--Dow Jones & Co. announced Thursday that The Wall Street Journal technology columnists Walter S. Mossberg and Kara Swisher will co-produce “D: All Things Digital,” a conference examining the impact of digital technology on the economy.

The event will take place May 27-29 in San Diego.

The Journal is trumpeting the conference as a new kind of face-to-face event with “no canned speeches" and no PowerPoint presentations. Instead, presenters will simply be interviewed by Mossberg and Swisher.

Slated speakers include Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Steve Case, Barry Diller and Meg Whitman. The audience will be limited to about 300 attendees.
