Dow Jones reorganizes European business operations

London—Dow Jones & Co. Tuesday announced that Andrew Langhoff has been named publisher of The Wall Street Journal Europe and managing director of Dow Jones Consumer Media Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective Jan. 5.

Langhoff, previously CEO of Ottaway Newspapers, the local media group of Dow Jones, will be responsible for all aspects of Dow Jones’ consumer business in EMEA, including the Journal’s print and online operations. Additionally, he will take on responsibility for the consumer business in South America, includingThe Wall Street Journal Americas.

Langhoff will be based in Dow Jones’ London office. Among his priorities will be the development of local sections on WSJ.com.

Patrick J. Purcell will succeed Langhoff at Ottaway and also take on the role of executive chairman, beginning Jan. 5. Purcell will continue as owner and publisher of the Boston Herald.
