Former Dow Jones vice chairman dies

New York--Donald A. Macdonald, vice chairman emeritus and a retired director of Dow Jones & Co., died Friday. He was 83. Macdonald began working for Dow Jones as an advertising sales representative in 1953. He was elected a director of Dow Jones in 1977 and vice chairman of the company in 1979. He helped spearhead Dow Jones' international expansion, overseeing publications such as The Asian Wall Street Journal and The Wall Street Journal Europe.
