Dow Jones’ ‘Far Eastern Economic Review’ to go from weekly to monthly

Published on .

Hong Kong—Dow Jones & Co. announced Thursday that the Far Eastern Economic Review, formerly a newsweekly, will become a monthly publication.

The first issue of the scaled-back Review will be published in December.

As a weekly, the publication has lost money for the past six years, Dow Jones said.

The company will cut about 80 jobs, or about 10% of Dow Jones’ Asia-based employees. The company said it would record a $3 million restructuring charge as a special item in the fourth quarter.
