Omaha, Neb.—DTN, which provides news and information services for agricultural and energy markets, has acquired The Progressive Farmer from Time Inc.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The magazine, founded in 1886, is published 10 times a year and has more than 600,000 subscribers. It serves several ad categories, including automotive, tractor, retail and outdoor sporting goods. The publication and staff will continue to be based in Birmingham, Ala.
Time Inc. has been shedding noncore assets, and last year put up for sale its special-interest publication portfolio, Time4Media.
