Lexington, Mass.--E-mail marketing company e-Dialog has laid off 15 to 20 employees, BtoB has learned. CEO John Rizzi confirmed the staff reduction, saying, "We had to adjust for a slower growth curve." On a positive note, Rizzi said more than a dozen new customers have "come through the door" since July. Aggressive pricing is to blame for the cutback. "There's a price war going on in our industry," Rizzi said. Forrester analyst Jim Nail agreed, saying all e-mail marketing companies are struggling and that "it seems to be mainly a pricing issue."
