E-mail marketing top marketing investment

Palo Alto, Calif.—The top area of marketing investment this year will be e-mail marketing, according to a new report by the Chief Marketing Officer Council. The CMO Council’s Marketing Outlook study was based on an online survey of more than 650 global marketing executives, conducted from January through March. It found that despite the recession, nearly one-third of global marketers plan to increase their marketing budgets this year. The top two areas of marketing investment this year are e-mail marketing (cited by 45% of respondents), and online research and surveys (33%).
