New York—Several U.S. companies postponed their quarterly earnings reports, originally due Monday or today, as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Meanwhile, the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq remained closed today.
DailyFinance, Pfizer Inc., NRG Energy and Thomson Reuters have rescheduled the release of their financial reports for later this week.
McGraw-Hill Cos. has postponed its third-quarter earnings release and conference call from Wednesday to Friday.
The Conference Board said that, due to Hurricane Sandy, it has rescheduled the release of the Consumer Confidence Index from today to Thursday.
“We've made this decision to assure the safety of our staff and all who follow the Consumer Confidence Index, as well as ensure the distribution of the report remains fair and open,” said Lynn Franco, director of economic indicators at the Conference Board, in a statement.
