EarthWeb to sell content business

New York-In an effort to refocus the business on its high-tech employment site, EarthWeb Inc. has agreed to sell its online content unit to Internet.com Corp. Terms of the transaction weren't disclosed. However, as part of the deal EarthWeb will lay off about 100 workers and close several offices. Another 46 employees will be offered jobs at Internet.com in Darien, Conn. EarthWeb will sell its Earthweb.com Web addresses and more than 10 other domains in the deal and ramp up its core online information technology career services, which include Dice.com and MeasureUp Inc.
