EBay readies new Web site for business purchases

San Jose, Calif.—EBay said it will launch a new Web site on Wednesday: www.ebaybusiness.com. The site will target small and midsize businesses.

Business purchases have more than tripled since 2002 on eBay’s main Web site and, in 2004, U.S. sales of business capital equipment items grew by more than 88%.

EBay also announced the introduction of Business Equipment Purchase Protection, a program for buyers of capital equipment through the company.
