Boston--In a move that may presage the long-anticipated initial public offering of several International Data Group Web properties, IDG announced Thursday that Jeff Edman has been promoted to president-CEO of PC World Communications. In his new role, Mr. Edman will oversee all business activities at the company's print publication, PC World, as well as its online operations, including pcworld.com, webshopper.com and e-mail newsletters. A 14-year veteran of PC World, Mr. Edman joined the company in 1985 as Midwest advertising manager. He has served as PC World's publisher since 1997.
