EMarketer: Facebook to surpass Yahoo in display ads

New York—Facebook will lead U.S. display ad revenue this year, overtaking Yahoo for the first time, according to a new forecast from eMarketer. Facebook U.S. display ad revenue will nearly double this year to $2.19 billion over $1.21 billion last year, and will make up 17.7% of total U.S. display advertising, according to eMarketer. Yahoo display ad revenue will reach $1.62 billion this year, up x $1.43 billion last year, and will make up 13.1% of total U.S. display ad revenue, eMarketer projected. Display ad revenue at Google will reach $1.15 billion this year, from $860 million last year, and make up 9.3% of total display advertising, according to the report.
