New York—Mobile commerce sales in the U.S. will reach $6.7 billion this year, up 94.1% over last year, according to a forecast from eMarketer.
Next year, mobile commerce sales will hit $11.6 billion, up 73.1% over this year, eMarketer predicts.
In the report,
mobile commerce sales included sales of physical goods as well as travel and event tickets purchased via mobile devices but excluded digital downloads and usage of mobile phones as a point-of-sale payment mechanism.
EMarketer's estimates for mobile commerce sales also did not include purchases made from tablet devices.
