eMarketer says Twitter ad revenue will near $1 billion next year

New York—In 2014, Twitter ad revenue will reach $950.0 million, up 63% over the $582.8 million expected this year, according to a new forecast from eMarketer. The forecast, “Twitter Ad Revenues Worldwide, 2011-2015,” also projected that by 2015, Twitter's global ad revenue will reach $1.3 billion. This year, 53% of Twitter's ad revenue will come from mobile advertising, growing to 60% by 2015, according to the report. The bulk of Twitter's ad revenue is expected to continue to come from the U.S. (about 83% this year). In 2012, almost 90% of Twitter's global ad revenue came from the U.S.
