Emerson to acquire Motorola Embedded Communications Computing

Tempe, Ariz.—Emerson Electric Co. announced plans to acquire the Motorola Embedded Communications Computing business from Motorola Inc. for $350 million. MECC supplies embedded communications and computing platforms for equipment and system OEMs in communications, industrial, defense/aerospace and medical markets. Emerson plans to integrate the Motorola business into its network power unit. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
