Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel Corp. moved its estimated $25 million business-to-business ad account to Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, from Euro RSCG DSW Partners, Salt Lake City and San Francisco. Euro RSCG became Intel's global agency network after it bought DSW in 1996. The chip company moved its $300 million consumer account to Messner from DSW last year, and now shifts creative and media work that runs in computer publications. Messner will handle all global creative and print media buying; Havas Advertising's SFM Media, New York, handles broadcast buying. "In looking at the growth of our business-to-business advertising," an Intel spokeswoman said, "we just felt that Messner's operation [and] their size and scope were best prepared to handle the current state of our business as well as where we expect it will go." The move marks the end of a nine-year run in which DSW helped make Intel a ubiquitous brand. DSW will remain an Intel Web shop, along with Messner and Modem Media.Poppe Tyson, San Francisco.
