ESPN names Bodenheimer executive chairman

Burbank, Calif.—Walt Disney Co.'s ESPN has named George Bodenheimer executive chairman of the network, effective Jan. 1. Bodenheimer is currently president of ESPN and ABC Sports and co-chairman of Disney Media Networks. Succeeding Bodenheimer in the president and co-chairman roles will be John Skipper, currently ESPN's exec VP-content. Bodenheimer has been president of ESPN for 13 years.
