ExactTarget announces application for managing transactional e-mails

Published on .

Indianapolis—ExactTarget, a provider of marketing software and services, this week announced an application for managing transactional e-mails—those that confirm purchases, notify customers of shipments or respond to other e-commerce or CRM-system events. The application will allow users to track transactional e-mails in real time and change their content dynamically.

“If a customer has just made a purchase from your organization, he or she is highly engaged—they want and expect to hear from you,” said Scott McCorkle, VP-technology and product at ExactTarget, in a statement. “Transactional e-mails are the perfect opportunity to extend your marketing message and to cross-sell or up-sell based on known customer engagement.”

Beyond.com, a network of online job sites and Web communities, is among the first ExactTarget clients to use the solution.
