Schaumburg, Ill.--Experian and MeritDirect have teamed up to launch a new cooperative b-to-b database, according to company announcements. The new database, dubbed b2bBase, will be a managed as a private, or membership, prospecting database for companies that participate. Experian benefits from MeritDirect's list management expertise, while MeritDirect can tap into Experian's Z-24 data product. Staples is one b-to-b marketer that has joined the cooperative. Marketer participants have contributed 10 million contacts to the database so far, a number that is expected to grow to about 35 million by the end of this year.
