San Francisco—Social advertising on Facebook is gaining in popularity, with 23% of overall social ad budgets now allocated to Facebook, up from 5% a year ago, according to a report from Marin Software. Also, user engagement with Facebook ads, such as Sponsored Stories, has risen in the past year, with click-through rates improving 50%. According to Marin, this implies an improvement in overall ad relevance. The report is based on an analysis of more than $100 million in Facebook ad spending on Marin's platform.
