London—Facebook Inc.'s cost per thousand impressions (CPMs) in the second quarter was up 58% compared with the year-earlier period, according to a report by U.K.-based social advertising company TBG Digital.
TBG's “Global Facebook Advertising Report,” a study of Facebook's CPMs, was based on 406 billion impressions in more than 190 countries for 276 clients from the second quarter of 2011 through the this year's second quarter. The CPM increase was attributed to a greater use of Sponsored Stories and the launch of Facebook mobile ads.
Separately, Facebook this week unveiled an updated version
of its site for small and midsize businesses, with additional tools, tutorials, advertiser best practices and success stories.
