Fairchild picks Sanders to replace Beckman

New York—Condé Nast’s Fairchild Fashion Group announced Wednesday that Gina Sanders has been named president-CEO of the unit, which publishes WWD. Her appointment is effective Feb. 1.

A 20-year-veteran of Condé Nast, Sanders has been VP-publisher of the company’s Lucky magazine since 2008. She will oversee WWD, WWD.com, Footwear News, Fairchild Summits and Fairchild Books.

“Gina is a strategic business leader with strong fashion, beauty and retail experience,” Condé Nast President-CEO Charles H. Townsend said in a statement. “I look to her to leverage the FFG assets and to grow the company’s vitality in the marketplace.”

Sanders succeeds Richard Beckman, who resigned last week to become CEO of e5 Global Media, which recently acquired Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter.
