Philadelphia—Farm Journal Media has acquired the Peak agricultural peer network from the Family Business Institute. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, the FamilyBusiness Institute will provide consulting services for Farm Journal Media's Top Producer Executive Network, a peer-to-peer network for farmers, which debuted in February. The network enables groups of top producers to act as advisory boards to other farmers.
“We also plan to expand the Family Business Institute's role to include the Farm Journal Legacy Project,” said Steve Custer, president of Farm Journal Media's publishing division, in a statement. “We know legacy planning will be a key component within a lot of the peer groups, and the Family Business Institute has a deep background in helping family businesses plan succession.”
