Fidelity, Putnam, Franklin, PFPC team on adviser portal

Published on .

Boston-In a groundbreaking move for the multibillion-dollar financial advisory business, Fidelity Investments, Putnam Investments, Franklin Templeton Group and PFPC Inc. are teaming to launch a financial advisor portal. The as-yet-unnamed hub will offer advisers all manner of online account management services, from mutual fund trading to customer service. The portal could be serious competition to Charles Schwab & Co.'s advisor Internet site, the top industry site. Fidelity, Putnam and Franklin are the most favored mutual fund providers among financial advisers, and Fidelity is the world's largest financial company, with some $1.6 trillion in assets under custody.
