Published on . 0

Media Business London—The Financial Times has launched fastFT, a digital feed of exclusive breaking news items and comments typically ranging from 100 to 250 words in length. The service will be updated around the clock Monday through Friday. Staffed by eight journalists located in New York, Hong Kong and London, fastFT will include posts from FT journalists around the globe, as well as guest contributors. The dispatches are presented in rolling format with the most recent update at the top. They appear on the right side of the FT homepage and on a separate fastFT website. With a responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, fastFT can be accessed on desktop devices at FT.com and on smartphones and tablets with a mobile browser or the FT Web App (app.ft.com). “When 140 characters doesn't cut it, fastFT will go beyond the headlines, providing context and opinion in quick, authoritative reports with a level of transparency and personality that isn't available elsewhere,” wrote Lionel Barber, editor of the FT, in a note to subscribers. fastFT is available to all FT.com subscribers. Daily access to the fastFT page counts as one article for registered users who receive eight free monthly articles within the FT metered model.
