Firehouse.com ads to go dark on Sept. 11

Published on .

College Park, Md.--Firehouse.com, a Web site for firefighters and rescuers, Wednesday announced that it will remove all advertisements on its site on Sept. 11 to honor the memory of the firefighters of New York, emergency service personnel and civilians who were killed in the Sept. 11 attacks. "A moment of silence, both personally and industrywide, is only fitting in recognition of the bravery, heroism and numerous sacrifices experienced on 9/11," said Phil Gerace, director of sales and marketing for fire apparatus manufacturer KME, a site advertiser.
