Fluor starts global equipment trading exchange

Aliso Viejo, Calif.--Fluor Corp. has launched GlobEquip, an exchange for the buying and selling of surplus heavy construction and mining equipment. GlobEquip, which is also backed by Citigroup Inc. and American Equipment Co. Inc., allows for sourcing, currency exchange, transaction insurance and escrow services. The site is intended for regions with big mining and construction sectors, including North America, Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia.
