New York—Forbes Media announced it is introducing its first French-language edition, Forbes Afrique. The publication will be distributed in 23 Francophone countries in Africa.
The new magazine is being launched in partnership with Lucien Ebata, an African entrepreneur. Mark Furlong, president of Forbes Custom Solutions Media and a co-founder of Forbes Afrique, said the publication will be the brand's 26th international edition. It will combine local business stories with content from Forbes' U.S. publications.
Michel Lobe, previously the chief African correspondent for the BBC, will be editor. Initial distribution will be 25,000 copies.
“Now the Francophone countries have their own edition produced in their home language to speak to the entrepreneurial power of Forbes Media—with the additional content generated by our local staff,” said Furlong, publisher of Forbes Afrique, in a statement.
