Forrester finds increase in interactive marketing channels

Cambridge, Mass.—Marketers are investing more heavily in new interactive channels such as social media, blogs and RSS, according to a new report from Forrester Research.

According to the report, 40% of marketers will use or test RSS this year, up from 10% last year. Also, 34% will use or test blogs, up from 13% last year.

Currently, 25% of marketers use podcasts, and 22% leverage user-generated content. Social networks are being used by 20% of marketers.

The report was based on a survey of 170 marketers conducted online in December and January.
