Foursquare adds analytics tools for publishers

New York—Location-based social network Foursquare has added new tools that give media companies insight into how their subscribers are commenting about other businesses. Foursquare’s revamped dashboard now provides to publishers information about the locales subscribers check into and who responded to the publishers’ “tips”—Foursquare’s term for suggestions publishers make about locales and businesses. Foursquare said the History Channel, Time Out New York and the Washington Post participate in its “tips” program. For these and other publishers, knowing which of their “tips” get the most responses can provide another way to engage with subscribers and followers, Foursquare said in a statement.
