Foursquare revamps Foursquare for Business page

Published on .

New York—Location-based social networking website Foursquare is reaching out more aggressively to businesses—in particular those not tied to specific locations—with a revamped Foursquare for Business page that contains instructions on how brands can use the Foursquare service to promote themselves.

Divided into advice for large national brands as well as specific local venues, the section details how businesses can claim a venue, offer deals and apply for their personal “badges,” which are virtual awards of recognition for checking into venues.

The new brands section covers ways that companies not tied to specific locations can connect with their customers through branded pages, advise on best practices for getting seen by their followers and forms to request consideration for a branded (nonlocation-based) badge.
