Freeman buys troubled UK events company

Published on .

Dallas—Exposition marketing company Freeman has acquired SO Group, an event services company based in Birmingham, England. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. On Thursday, SO Group went into administration, a preliminary step toward possible bankruptcy. Freeman then stepped in with a winning bid for the company's business and assets in an accelerated sales process. The purchase does not include event software provider N200, which merged with SO Group in 2012, according to a report in Exhibition News. SO will operate under the name SO Group, a Freeman company.
