Freeman to sell Fern Exposition

Dallas—Exposition marketing company Freeman will sell Fern Exposition & Event Services to Fern COO Aaron Bludworth and an investment group. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Freeman acquired Fern in June 2011 as part of its acquisition of Wheelhouse Solutions. Cincinnati-based Fern has remained an independent brand since that time. According to Trade Show News Network, Fern's core markets in the Midwest and Southeast had been difficult to integrate into Freeman, and Freeman felt it could function better as a standalone company. The two companies will continue to partner in several markets, Freeman said.
