FreeMarkets to buy Adexa for $340m

Pittsburgh--B-to-b auctioneer FreeMarkets Inc. announced its attention to acquire Los Angeles-based Adexa Inc., a software developer, for $340 million in stock. The deal is expected to extend FreeMarkets' use of supply chain management software, in which Adexa specializes. FreeMarkets' shares were trading early Thursday around $22. Its 52-week low was $16, its high, $266.
