FreeMarkets inks deal with Nestlé Thailand Ltd.

Pittsburgh--FreeMarkets Inc. has signed a deal with Bangkok-based Nestle Thailand Ltd. to develop the foodmaker’s b-to-b e-procurement practices. Nestle Thailand Ltd., a subsidiary of Nestle S.A., the world’s biggest food company, will begin using FreeMarkets’ B2B eMarketplace to source goods. The deal is part of FreeMarkets’ ongoing Asia push and is the latest b-to-b deal for Nestle S.A., which is fast becoming a b-to-b leader among consumer products companies. Nestle USA Inc., another of its subsidiaries, recently became the first large U.S. food company to launch its own retailer buying site.
