FTC stops DoubleClick investigation

New York-The Federal Trade Commission has ended its yearlong inquiry into DoubleClick Inc.'s data aggregation and ad serving practices without finding any wrongdoing. DoubleClick, which had been taken to task by privacy groups for its plans to merge subsidiary Abacus Direct's data with its own. The company's announcement in January 2000 sparked complaints and the ensuing FTC investigation.
